There's not a lot to tell really other than to say that penmaking to me is a bit more than a hobby in that the more I make the more I am amazed by the beauty of the wood when it is fineley sanded and polished to a high lustre.
It is this, above all, that inspires me to produce a satisfying high quality product to my customers.
As you will see from the following, we are not a big company as we do not have a payroll! There's only me, Eddie Wardle,(above) and my wife Carol (tea) and of course Security in the form of Maxwell (Westie). So as you can well imagine all the pen making is done by me from choosing the wood through to the final seal and polishes needed to ensure a lasting Unique product.
UniQPenS is a new name on the net but I have been making writing instruments for many years. These were originally turned on my father's Myford ML8 lathe which is now over 50 years old, and still going strong. I have since invested in a Fox Midi Lathe which is more environmently friendly. My "Factory" measures 10ft x 10ft is made of wood, I call it the workshop, the wife calls it the shed !
